Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Leave-In-Conditioner (Review)

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Leave-In-Conditioner (Review)

Like blow outs? Then you’ll love this strengthen and restore leave in conditioner!

When I first tried Shea Moisture it was well after the rest of the world! In fact, I thought it was a new brand when I discovered them a few years ago. This was the first product I tried out of the many they stock and I have never looked back since.

This leave-in was designed to help us naturals who can’t resist a good blow out, the occasional straightening and maybe even a splash of colour to our poppin’ curls! As a 3 years natural, kinky haired, type 4 girl I am always worried about heat damage and having to do the big chop because I went too far! I would never recommend using any product in the hopes that it will protect your hair from the potential damage but there are certainly products that can help restore your curls after a special occasion! It’s better to be safe than sorry is one of my natural hair mantras.

I like to give my hair a good rest in between heat use but I can certainly feel the difference in the quality of my hair when my blow out is coming to an end. That is why I love this leave in conditioner. As someone who often tries new natural hair products for the purpose of reviewing them I am always on the lookout for quality. This is a product that I have found myself reusing again and again on wash day…. Especially when I have used heat!

Designed to nourish, moisturise and support elasticity in natural hair, this product really does what it says on the tin (or tub in this case). Type 4 hair in particular is very fragile and susceptible to snapping and breakage, that’s why it’s so important to restore the natural hair bonds regularly especially if you’re using heat or colour. By using Shea Moisture strengthen and restore leave in conditioner you help build those hair links back up and support elasticity which prevents snapping and breakage.

There are 4 products in the Jamaican black castor oil range which all work towards restoring natural hair after treatments however I like to use the leave-in with a variety or other products on wash day and I find it still works really well. Jamaican black castor oil is also one of my favourite sealing oils and is known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties. That means it also contributes to excellent scalp health so there’s really nothing to lose with this product.

Other key ingredients in this product included; Apple Cider Vinegar, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Peppermint, Shea Butter. All of which are known to contribute to a healthy scalp and beautiful kink & curls! Unlike a lot of the leave in conditioners out there this product has a very natural smell. You can tell it’s packed full of lovely natural ingredients as soon as you open it and take a whiff!

I hope you really enjoyed reading this post, learned a lot about the product and natural ingredients that benefit your hair.
